Privacy Policy
Plain language, always — including here. This explains what we collect, what we do with it, and how to make us delete it.
Last updated: July 24, 2026
The short version
If you fill out our contact form, we get an email with what you typed. If you book a call, our scheduling tool tells us who’s coming and what you said. That’s the whole system — no database of our own, no tracking pixels, no advertising cookies, and no mailing list you get added to quietly. We don’t sell your information to anyone, ever. If you want us to delete what you’ve sent us, email ryan@lokalmediahawaii.com and we will.
Who we are
Lokal Media (“Lokal Media,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an AI consulting and development studio based in Hawaiʻi. This policy covers the website at lokalmediahawaii.com. If you become a client, the handling of your business data during an engagement is governed by the written agreement we sign with you — not by this page.
What you give us
We only collect what you choose to send. Through the contact form, that’s:
- Your name and email address (both required, so we can reply)
- Your business or organization name, if you enter one
- The challenges and services you check off, which tell us what to prepare before we talk
- Anything you write in the message box
If you book a strategy call, you also give us your name, email, and the answers to the few questions on the booking form — what your business is, what you’re struggling with, and anything you’d like us to look at first. That goes to us so we can prepare for the call.
If you email or call us directly, we have whatever you put in that message. Please don’t send sensitive information — financial account numbers, passwords, or confidential business documents — through the contact form. Wait until we’ve set up a secure channel.
What’s collected automatically
Our website host records standard server logs when any site is visited: IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and timestamps. This happens for every website on the internet and exists to keep the site running, fast, and protected from abuse. We don’t use these logs to build a profile of you, and we don’t combine them with anything you send through the form.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies. There is no analytics software, no advertising pixel, no social media tracker, and no session tracking of any kind on this site. That’s unusual, and we’d rather tell you than let you assume the worst.
Booking a call is handled by Calendly, on Calendly’s own website. When you click through from our booking page, you leave this site, and from that point Calendly’s cookies and privacy policy apply rather than ours.
If we add website analytics, or embed the scheduling calendar directly into this site, we’ll update this page and say plainly what’s running and why before it goes live.
How we use your information
We use what you send us to:
- Reply to your inquiry and answer your questions
- Prepare for a strategy call or an audit of your operation
- Provide services if you become a client, and communicate with you about that work
- Keep our own records of who we’ve talked to and what was discussed
- Meet legal obligations, or protect our rights if we ever need to
We do not add you to a marketing list because you filled out the contact form. If we ever start a newsletter, you’ll have to ask for it.
Who processes it
A few service providers handle your information on our behalf, strictly to make this site work. They’re permitted to process it only for that purpose:
- Vercel — hosts the website and serves these pages
- Resend — delivers contact form submissions to our inbox as email
- Calendly — runs our scheduling calendar, and receives the name, email, and answers you enter when you book a call
- Our business email provider — where your inquiry lands and stays
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, if we need to enforce our terms, or if it’s necessary to protect someone’s safety or our legal rights. If our business is ever sold or merged, information could transfer as part of that — and we’d note it here.
What we don’t do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent, trade, or otherwise disclose it for money or anything of value. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we don’t hand it to data brokers. There is no fine print underneath this paragraph reversing it.
How long we keep it
Inquiries live in our email records for as long as they’re useful to the relationship — a conversation from two years ago is often still relevant context when someone comes back. If you’d rather we didn’t keep yours, say so and we’ll delete it.
Your choices and rights
Email ryan@lokalmediahawaii.com and you can ask us to:
- Tell you what information about you we hold
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Delete what you’ve sent us
- Stop contacting you entirely
We aim to respond within 30 days. Residents of certain states and countries — California and the EU/UK among them — have specific legal rights over their personal information. We honor these requests from anyone who asks, wherever you live, rather than checking your address first. We won’t discriminate against you for making a request.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection, form submissions travel encrypted, and access to our inbox is restricted and protected. We keep the amount of information we hold deliberately small, which is the most effective protection there is. That said, no method of transmitting or storing data over the internet is perfectly secure, and we can’t promise absolute security.
Children’s privacy
This site is meant for businesses and the people who run them. It isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Links to other sites
This site may link to other websites we don’t control. Their privacy practices are their own, and we’d encourage you to read their policies before sharing anything with them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information — adding analytics or a scheduling tool, for instance — we’ll revise this page and update the date at the top. Material changes will be obvious rather than buried.
How to contact us
Questions about this policy, or about anything we hold on you, go to ryan@lokalmediahawaii.com. A real person in Hawaiʻi reads that inbox and will answer you.
